Peter Young - / Profile /

An Australian since 1946, Peter is our in-house "gray hair" who brings years of life experience as a father and as a successful business and property developer.

He currently resides in Melbourne, Australia where he works as an architect and project manager with expertise in environmental sustainability and regional development.

Peter's traveling experiences include Malaysia and Singapore in 1963 when South East Asia was on a war footing, living in and exploring Papua - New Guinea for one year and sailing to the South West Pacific in 1967, along with forays to New Zealand, Fiji and Tahiti.

He has worked for extended periods in all the capital cities in Australia and knows well the Wilderness precincts in the South East corner of Australia as well as having sailed long stretches along Australia's 20,000 mile rugged coastline.

Peter holds a pilots licence and has been a keen offshore sailor for a number of years although now his most favored position on a boat is where its dry, he can stay seated and only has to do minimal winching work.

Meditation and well-being practices are an integral part of his life, and he shares with his life-partner Barbara Corstorphan a strong interest in how humankind can get more out of life through these practices.

Peter is actively involved in community development and environmental programs as a founder of the Snowy River Institute, a director of the Eastern Victoria Community Foundation, as a member of the Sustainable Living Foundation and participant in the Australian Green Development Forum.
